Making Bread

Had a few minutes before I had to leave for work yesterday, which made for excellent camho time.

This is my work uniform for the street corner nightclub that I work at. Hey look at my...necklace!
This is the "Renaissance Corset" by Frederick's. You can purchase it here, if you want to look good, but aren't really big on breathing, and general rib cage expansion.

Not so glamorous underneath.

I started wearing compression socks a few months ago when I started to notice varicose veins around my ankles. These make a huge difference! I have a lot less foot pain and fatigue at the end of my nights. I definitely recommend if you work long hours on your feet, like I do.

One of my friends that I always enjoy seeing at work, came by for drinks and got a little tipsy. She kept asking me something but I couldn't hear what she was saying, so I asked her to write it down. The note says, "What should I do about a burning stomach?"

You might know her as MakeupD0ll.

The After shot.

Kawaii!

So I went back and forth with myself, on whether or not I would do this post.

Colored contact lenses seem to be the bain of all existence and can be linked to 94% of all reports of puppy kicking and baby punching.

Okay, not really, but everyone seems to hate them. I love them so here's my post.

I ordered 5 pairs of circle lenses from HoneyColor.com and qualified for free express shipping. They came super fast, about 4 business days, all the way from Singapore. I actually really like their site. Unlike CandyLens, and other circle lens sites, they have a big variety of lenses that can be ordered plano (no prescription) or with prescription for blind bitches like me.

As you can see from the photo above, all of the lenses come in nice HoneyColor boxes, that contain 2 vials, one for each lens. Each pair also came with its own free contact lens case.

Look how adorbs! Hippo, pig, elephant, and um...sea creature thing?

Here's my regular ol' eyes.

Beaucon Shimmer Brown: I like these. They resemble my old Freshlook Colorblend lenses.

Hyper Natural Brown

Geo Bambi Almond (Princess Mimi)

Geo Fresh Brown: probably my favorite pair. Very subtle but gives your eyes a little shimmer. Even Panda, who always looks into my eyes because he is so mesmerized and enamored with me (or maybe just in my head) could not tell I had them on.

As you can see in the very last photo, my left eye looks a bit different from the right. I think I may have put the left lens in inside out. Definitely the drawback of circle lenses, as they can be very, very uncomfortable if they are put in on the wrong side.

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend, if you enjoy being semi-fobby like myself.

Date Night

Had a nice date night out at PF Chang's recently.  Maybe I went because it's Chinese New Year, or maybe I had completely forgotten and just went because they serve food there. Either way, Happy Chinese New Year!

They have a special drink to celebrate the new year, called 'Dragon Punch'. Our server (who was very nice, by the way) rattled off the ingredients pretty quickly, which of course, I paid no attention to.  All I heard was "strawberry puree", "lemon juice", and "vodka".

Sold.

Little did I know, one of the ingredients is also sriracha sauce. I didn't recognize what that was, so I assumed it was some kind of awesome asian ginger something or other. Sriracha is hot sauce.

I have to say, I don't recommend putting sriracha sauce in drinks.  I honestly couldn't pay attention to anything my date said for about 30 minutes.  Not one to waste alcohol, I drank about two thirds of the drink and ordered the next without it.  You can check out the actual recipe here.

Want.

Jeffrey Campbell "The Shadow Spike and Stud bootie".

These are so dope, I think I went blind for a few minutes after looking at them.

Sadly, I can't do anything with these. A seven inch heel puts me at a solid 6'3". Damn you, short girls. Damn you to hell.

Buy these here for me, size nine.

Haul 1/19

I got a text from a friend today, telling me that Bloomingdale's at the Perimeter mall is closing. Everything in the store is 20-40% off. I'd definitely head up there to check it out.

I didn't buy anything from there, but I ended up wandering around and got a couple of good (cheaper) finds.

Down jacket - Forever 21, workout pants - Forever 21, high waist leggings - Zara

These pictures don't really do the leggings any justice. They look a lot cuter on, in person. Oddly enough, this picture also makes my feet look way bigger than they really are. Okay, no it doesn't.

Cheers and Jeers: Apple iPod Touch

Ever since I read bff-in-my-head, Xiaxue's blog post on iPhone photo editing, I've been obsessed with buying one of my own.

Being able to snap photos, then edit them directly from my phone, using apps like 'Face Cam' and 'Makeover' seemed like the perfect solution. No more carrying around a bulky camera and then having to upload my pictures, edit them, then post to my blog. Perfect for mobile blogging -- all the better to bring you more of my bullshit exclusive content!

Unfortunately, I am not due for a phone upgrade for 2 years.

Two years?! Thanks a lot Sprint.

Anyway, I thought I had found a solution in the iPod Touch.

All the of same apps, games, HD video recording, plus a front facing camera that's awesome for taking vain photos of myself making kissy faces FaceTime video chatting.

THE PROS:
 - Access to Apple's abundant app store
 - HD videos: good for recording videos for my YouTube channel when I'm out and about
 - Front facing camera for FaceTiming with other iPhones/iPads

Of course there are a bunch of other pros about this product, but these are the main ones that were positives for me, for blogging purposes.

THE CONS:
 - The front and rear facing cameras' picture quality is bad. Plus, there is no flash

I really only found one flaw, but it was the main reason I had bought it in the first place. I had downloaded all of the picture editing apps, but there was nothing to be done with a shoddy, grainy looking photo.

So my dreams of avoiding paying full price for a new phone were shot.

FINAL VERDICT:
I returned it. However, I'd still recommend getting an iPod Touch, if the camera feature is not that important to you.

Back at It

After working out at home for the past couple of years, I decided to start my LA Fitness membership up again.

Fortunately, there's a brand new, relatively unknown location that's close to my house.

All the cardio equipment have tv's. I mostly use the stepmill, sometimes the eliptical. Whatever will give me a nice ass is good for my glutes and hamstrings.

Shameless camwhoring. Look at the awesome locker room.

I still do a majority of my workouts at home, using the dumbbells that I have, that and I have no patience to do ab workouts at the gym. I still do a lot of P90x moves, or at least the ones that I liked. Click here to see my full review of the program.

Yes, I do happen to be naturally thin. "You don't need to workout, you're already so skinny...blah blah blah." I suppose I don't have to work out as much as some people, but I still workout to stay toned and gain some muscle mass. Also, my fat goes straight to my belly, and I'll be damned if I'm seen looking 'skinny-fat'.

I will do a lengthier post, soon, with the specific workouts that I like to do.

Late Lunch

Today I went to Marlow's Tavern downtown for lunch.

Their menu seems a bit limited but the food was pretty good and at a decent price.

Pictured here: seared ahi tuna salad (minus cheese for my tummy) and grilled chicken panini.
Not pictured here: to-go box, food I wasted, and group of loud, obnoxious girls that wouldn't shut the hell up, sitting across from me.

Joy's Secret

It's time for Victoria's Secret Semi-annual sale!

I was so excited to hear that that time of year had rolled around again. On the flip side, I felt equally guilty spending more money, after dropping a shit ton over the holidays.

Ah well. I couldn't help myself. There's something about lingerie...

Check out Kelis's take on Vicky's Secret.
