Well I am, dammit.

Not sure if you guys are familiar with 9gag or Rage Comics, but they're these comic strip doodles that make funny observations...

I figured out how to make one of my own.

Makeup for Photoshoots

I hadn't been in a photo shoot in forever, so when my friend Lawrence called me to model for him, I was pretty excited.

Lawrence is a well known hairstylist here in Atlanta, best known for his work with the ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I even got to do his makeup for one of the episodes last season, where he debuted his upcoming music.

When I walked into his salon, I was amazed to find photos I had posed in for him a few years back. I also did the makeup for the model seen in the middle picture!

For this shoot, I decided to do my own makeup again.

There's a lot I'd like to talk about as far as doing makeup for shoots, but I'll keep it to just the basics:

Skin:
- Heavier than normal coverage, but avoid going cakey. Cream foundations work best for getting this effect.

- Avoid anything with SPF - moisturizers, foundations, and especially concealer. SPF protects your skin by           reflecting light, and will react with the camera's flash. With anything that you use on your face, keep in mind the way it will react with the lighting.

- Avoid excessive shimmer - too much can make your skin look sweaty, on film.

Eyes:
- I would say anything goes as far as eye makeup. I also recommend lashes, no matter how long your natural one's are. They make a huge difference and just looks better in photos.

Lawrence gave me a cute up-do for the shoot. I kept my makeup neutral, to showcase the hair.

Final result?

I used some Ben Nye cream foundations, which are made especially for stage productions. You can purchase their products here or at camerareadycosmetics.com, where you can find a ton of other professional grade products, as well.

Dupe

I'm not huge on sneakers (the only pair that I own are my gym shoes) but I thought these were super cute.

Plus, they look just like the $700 Isabel Marant sneakers Beyonce had on in her "Love on Top" video.

They also come in a bunch of other colors. Buy here. Or not, because $266 is still fucking expensive.

Get Ready With Me #3: Valentine's Day

My first time using my hot roller set, and my hair turned out like shit!

It did something weird to my bangs, so I sort of just finger combed them back. I'm sure Panda didn't notice anyway (freakin' boys).

Anyway, check out the video to see my VDay prep.

I wore shapewear from Victoria's Secret as a dress.

I went low-key with my makeup. Just foundation, blush/bronzer, eyeliner/brow pencil and a nude lip.

Actual products used:
- Maybelline define-a-brow pencil in dark brown
- Makeup Forever HD foundation in 153
- MAC prep and prime translucent powder
- L'Oreal True Match powder in w8
- NYX bronzer stick in "cha cha with sun god"
- Milani bronzer in fake tan
- Maybelline dream bouncy blush in pink frosting
- Milani liquid eyeliner
- L'Oreal pencil eyeliner
- Maybelline falsies black drama mascara
- NYX false lashes
- NYX lip pencil in soft brown
- MAC lipstick in siss

Score.

Sushi plate from Sushi Yuki in the food court at HMart. I got a ton of food for only $11.

HMart smells horrible by the way. All the fresh seafood in the back makes the place reek but being partially Asian, there is a certain amount of rice I am required to eat, and I will go to great lengths to get it. But, I digress.

Also scored a few pairs of Korean lashes. Totes worth the trip!

Trip to Ulta

Went to Ulta recently and saw this beauty on sitting on the shelf...

An at home laser hair removal device, for ~ $250.

This was my reaction:

Having just booked a laser hair removal appointment, that had to be made over a month away because they are just that busy, I was pretty much like STFU and TAKE MY MONEY.

Alas, I saw this:

So I was like:

WTF!? I am 3 of the 4 listed races that cannot use this device. My skin is too dark and it can cause blisters and something something I don't know.

Anyway, my trip wasn't a total loss. I did manage to pick up a few things.

Nail polish stickers by Butter London. MakeupbyTiffanyLD is always going on and on about this nail polish brand. It's made by virgin maidens in the moon light, I think.

Philosophy Microdelivery Purifying Peel. Forty dollars was more than I wanted to pay for this stuff, but I've used it once already and its definitely worth the price. It burns off your face dissolves away dead skin and you can feel it on contact. Definitely not for you girls with sensitive skin.

I've been wanting a hot roller set for a while now, these were a pretty good deal at ~$17.

Also spotted Katy Perry's scam strips eyelashes. They don't look like anything special, and definitely not worth $7.

Getting to Know Each Other

Lily and my roommate's new puppy, Siditty, aren't really getting along so well now that they've finally met.

Little Sid is the cutest ball of fur. She's Pug and Shih Tzu mix. Lily is 100% liger.

Bacon.

Sun in My Belly has amazing breakfast. Panda and I squeezed in a quick meal before he had to go to work.

Its a really cool restaurant with a home-y feel to it.

Their food is awesome, but their bacon is like OMGWTFBBQ?!!

Kirkwood Breakfast and Mocha Latte

Its thick cut bacon that's maybe glazed with brown sugar? Either way, you want to try it.

Karaoke Night

One of my favorite night spots to hang out at here in Atlanta is Burkhart's. A friend of mine suggested we go one night for karaoke, and since then  we go every chance we get.

Inside is sort of dive bar-ish and laid back. Pretty refreshing when you work in a night club setting on a daily basis. There are 2 stories, with bars on both levels, and pool tables on the top floor. Burkhart's is a gay bar, so it was super fun for me and my girl friends, but we haven't successfully dragged any of our straight guy friends there yet.

I used my Twitter name for karaoke.

Some random guy came and gave me $5 while I was singing. I'd say my voice is worth about that much.

Check out my song selection

Guaranteed good time if you go.
